Once the screening starts, the file will be assigned to a screener who will contact the candidate and advise them of any documentation required.
Please inform your candidates that cooperation with our screening team will ensure their screening is completed quickly and efficiently, preventing any delays in starting their employment.
If they were not in education, not volunteering, not in employment, not self-employed or not claiming benefits for a period of time within the time frame of their screening, we will require documentation to cover the entire period.
This may be bank statements if they were not working and not claiming benefits, or travel documents such as passport stamps or train/plane tickets for periods of travelling. We will also require a written statement from the candidate advising how they were financially supported.
- If the bank statements show money going in, we will require a written statement explaining where the money is from e.g. family or friends.
- If the bank statements show child benefit/tax credit, this will need to be classified as not working and we will need a written statement advising they were living off the tax credit/child benefits.
- If bank statements are provided and there is a large account balance, then potentially this can be classified as living off savings.
Note: Any evidence provided needs to confirm what the written statement claims they were doing.
